    Month Ten: Margot’s First Christmas

This month was one I had eagerly anticipated since discovering I was pregnant. For any baby, their first Christmas is a magical milestone, a chance to introduce them to cherished family traditions. Margot was captivated by our Christmas tree, and thankfully, she didn’t get too hands-on with it. Despite her curious nature, she is delicate and listens when I tell her not to touch something. We spent Christmas surrounded by close family and friends, making it truly special. Albie was especially thrilled about Margot’s first Christmas, as it meant he got to open twice as many presents. Margot wasn’t interested in opening them yet, so we encouraged Albie to enjoy it, knowing next year she’ll likely want to join in.

Month Eleven: A Leap in Learning

This month, Margot seemed to grow in leaps and bounds. My favourite highlight was her learning her first animal noise. With an older brother immersed in the world of dinosaurs, Margot’s first sound was a delightful roar. It was the cutest little roar imaginable and completely unexpected. Albie would constantly remind Margot that dinosaurs go “roarrrr,” and after asking her repeatedly, “What does the dinosaur say?” she finally responded. With Mormor (grandmother in Swedish) visiting, Margot let out the sweetest, gentlest “roarrr.” Our shock and excitement were palpable as we witnessed another milestone, seeing her little mind connect the dots.

Month Twelve: A Year Around the Sun

I can hardly believe it’s been a year. The first year has flown by, and it feels like I’ve blinked and missed it. I said the same with my first, Albert, but this time it felt even faster. With your first child, you have all the time to focus solely on them, but with subsequent babies, you have others to care for and manage you almost feel like you miss more. I noticed this significantly during Margot’s first year. Unfortunately, Margot was very unwell on her birthday, so we couldn’t celebrate as planned. However, we’re making up for it over the next few weeks with a small party and a trip to Colchester Zoo to feed the giraffes.

Thank you, Emily, for all the blogs and for bringing Margot to the studio for her milestone mini shoots, and her final shoot. The cake smash was amazing! Her big brother Albie joined in too they had so much fun  , see below to see some of the images below.
