Frequently asked questions:
How far in advance do I need to book?
The earlier the better. As a popular newborn photographer in Norwich I tend to get booked up to 4 – 6 weeks ahead, sometimes longer. I can take bookings up to 6 months in advance. Ideally clients get in touch at least a month before. Sometimes I do get cancellations, so please contact me in case I have a last-minute slot available.
How do I book?
There are two options for booking your photo session:
- Use my Photoshoot Shop to pay for your session online. After I receive your order I will be in contact within 48 hours to arrange dates.
- Take a look at my price list and contact me via the contact form or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org. We will then discuss dates and I will send out a booking form and payment details and answer any questions you may have. I also send out an information sheet with my address, what to wear at the session , what to bring and so forth.
Do I need to pay a booking fee?
Yes, I’m afraid I cannot hold a slot without a the booking fee being made. Once this has been paid your session is secure and I will send you information about the shoot and what to expect. You can also pay for your session in full in my Photoshoot Shop
How long do sessions take?
I do not clock watch and take the time that is needed, most sessions last 1-2 hours and newborns can last up to 4 hours. Mini sessions are usually 30 minutes long. Newborn shoots take anything from 1.5 – 3 hours.
Are all images included in the session fee?
No, I know there are many photographers offering all images on a disc for £50 etc but I offer a personal, quality and bespoke service. My clients spend on average £350.
Where are you based and do you travel?
My home studio is based in Sprowston , Norwich Norfolk. I travel across Norfolk for “on location” shoots only.
Is there parking?
Yes there is plenty of free off road parking alongside my house.
What hours do you work & do you work weekends?
I shoot 2-3 days a week , and 1 weekend in every month . Weekends get booked up 3-4 months ahead. Due to the volume of enquiries , I do my best to respond to all within 48 hours.
Are you insured?
Yes 100% and I am also an approved member of the British Association of Newborn Photographers. I have been given PRO LEVEL membership – my work has been assessed by a panel of judges, all baby photographers. I have had newborn posing training and 2 days paediatric first aid = your baby is in safe hands.
What if my baby/child ‘doesn’t behave’?
Before the session you will receive an information sheet and in this I express that the best thing is not to worry! I don’t expect children to ‘perform’ and I do not want them to . My approach is laid back and relaxed, we can stop anytime for drinks, snacks and nappy changes. I have two children of my own and in my experience not rushing in, and letting them get to know me is the best approach. If for any reason they really are not feeling it or are ill (very rarely happens) we can rebook . It might mean waiting a few more weeks but it will ensure you get those portraits to treasure.
How do I view my images?
You will receive a password protected gallery link usually within 5 working days & this is active for 5 days. I also do viewings at the studio upon request.
If you have any further questions I have not covered please do not hesitate to contact me!
